UPM is looking for a Saudi of the highest caliber to fill the vacancy of Public Relations Director:

Functional Description:

Responsible for creating and developing positive relationships with entities and groups outside the University community which will provide appropriate public support and governmental approvals as well as opportunities for financial benefits to the University, its students, faculty and staff, in the present and future.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies aligned with UPM's mission, goals, and values.
  • Coordinate with senior leadership to ensure communication efforts support institutional objectives.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with media outlets, journalists, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Proactively pitch stories, respond to media inquiries, and coordinate media interviews and coverage.
  • Monitor media coverage and manage crisis communication when necessary.
  • Oversee internal communication initiatives to ensure effective dissemination of information to faculty, staff, and students.
  • Develop communication channels and tools to promote transparency, collaboration, and engagement within the university community.
  • Lead external communication efforts to raise awareness of UPM's programs, achievements, and initiatives.
  • Develop press releases, newsletters, website content, social media posts, and other materials to effectively communicate with external audiences.
  • Protect and enhance the UPM brand through consistent messaging and visual identity across all communication channels.
  • Develop and enforce brand guidelines to maintain brand integrity and ensure alignment with organizational values.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders to promote UPM's involvement and contributions to the community.
  • Organize outreach events, seminars, and public relations campaigns to enhance UPM's visibility and reputation.
  • Develop and manage the public relations budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support strategic priorities and achieve desired outcomes.

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Proven work experience as a Public Relations (PR) Director, PR Manager or similar role.
  • Solid experience coordinating successful PR campaigns.
  • Expertise in different social networks, including Instagram and Twitter.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Creative abilities.
  • Team management skills.
  • Ability to foster long-term relationships with key professionals.
  • BSc in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or a relevant field.
