In this vital role, you will be responsible for overseeing the performance, stability, and reliability of our applications while ensuring that they align with our business objectives.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement an application operations strategy that aligns with the organization's business goals
Oversee the design, implementation, and management of robust, scalable, and efficient application environments
Lead, mentor, and cultivate a team of professionals in application operations, including managers, engineers, and support personnel
Promote a culture centered on collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team
Ensure the availability, reliability, and optimal performance of all essential business applications
Manage the processes related to incident, problem, and change management for applications, aiming to minimize disruptions to business operations
Work in partnership with development, infrastructure, and security teams to enhance application performance and security
Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to proactively detect and resolve issues
Oversee the application lifecycle management, including updates, patches, and end-of-life strategies
Create and enforce policies and procedures for application operations, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements
Manage the budget for application operations, focusing on resource optimization and cost efficiency
Lead the planning and execution of disaster recovery strategies for critical applications
Effectively communicate with stakeholders, providing updates on application performance, incidents, and initiatives for improvement
Drive initiatives for continuous improvement by leveraging new technologies and methodologies to enhance application operations
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
12+ years of experience in application support or operations
Strong understanding of application development, deployment, and maintenance processes
Familiarity with ITIL methodologies and best practices
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
