As the Design Director - Public Realm at Qiddiya Investment Company, you will lead the vision and development of public spaces within residential areas, ensuring they are inviting, functional, and harmoniously integrated into the surrounding environment. Your role will be pivotal in enhancing community living experiences, promoting social interaction and outdoor activities, while collaborating with various stakeholders to achieve a cohesive design approach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct the design and master planning of public realms within residential districts, ensuring alignment with Qiddiya's overarching vision and strategy.
  • Collaborate with architects, landscape designers, and urban planners to create integrated and vibrant public spaces that foster community engagement.
  • Prepare and present design proposals and concepts to stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment on project objectives.
  • Conduct assessments of existing public spaces and gather community feedback to inform design decisions.
  • Establish design guidelines and best practices for public realm development, emphasizing sustainability and accessibility.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress, quality, and adherence to design specifications.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends in urban design and public space development to incorporate innovative solutions into projects.
  • Mentor junior designers and foster a collaborative team atmosphere that encourages creative problem-solving.
  • Maintain strong relationships with external consultants, contractors, and community stakeholders to facilitate seamless project delivery.
  • Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Architecture, or a related field; a Master’s degree is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in public realm or urban design, with a focus on residential projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading the design and master planning of public spaces in residential communities.
  • Strong knowledge of urban planning principles, landscape architecture, and community design.
  • Ability to visualize and communicate design concepts effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with community stakeholders and gather input.
  • Proficiency in design software and visualization tools for creating compelling presentations.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a focus on fostering collaboration and mentorship.
  • Experience in sustainable design practices and knowledge of relevant codes and regulations.
