Role Overview

The Design Director for THE LINE Neighborhood will oversee master planning and architectural design for two neighborhoods, covering approximately 1 million m². The role involves leading a team of Design Consultants, guiding design development, and managing design quality across the precinct. The role allocates 40% of time to each neighborhood and 20% to NEOM Business responsibilities.

Reporting To

Design Director Neighborhoods Module 46, THE LINE

Key Responsibilities

1. Coordinate design management at the precinct level, including core real estate assets, façades, sustainability, and public realm.
2. Manage design quality, compliance, and risk registers.
3. Review and sign off on design stages and coordinate with city-level designers.
4. Lead master planning and design for various asset types.
5. Ensure innovation and excellence in design, aligning with NEOM’s vision.
6. Collaborate on technical interfaces across neighborhoods and with anchor assets.
7. Coordinate with cost and project teams to meet budgets and schedules.
8. Oversee design asset briefs, documentation, and standards.
9. Lead stakeholder engagement and ensure adherence to regulations and standards.

Qualifications & Skills

Minimum 25 years of post-graduate architectural experience, with a proven track record in managing large-scale, signature architecture projects, preferably in the Middle East. Essential skills include expertise in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe Suite, and visualization tools. A B.Arch or equivalent degree, postgraduate qualifications, and international accreditation are required.
