Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and efficient Demi Chef de Partie-Butcher to join our culinary team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for the preparation and butchery of various meats, ensuring the highest standards of quality and food safety.

  • Prepare and portion various types of meat according to menu specifications and chef's instructions
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Operate and maintain butchery equipment, including knives, saws, and grinders
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation of meat dishes
  • Assist in inventory management and ordering of meat products
  • Implement proper storage and rotation of meat products to minimize waste
  • Contribute to menu development by suggesting new meat preparations or cuts
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in butchery techniques and meat preparation
  • Ensure compliance with halal meat preparation standards
  • Adapt to changing needs and assist in other kitchen areas as required
Qualifications
  • Proven experience (2-3 years minimum) as a butcher or Demi Chef de Partie in a professional kitchen setting
  • Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various butchery techniques
  • Strong knowledge of different meat cuts, preparation methods, and portion control
  • Understanding of food safety principles and hygiene practices
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items
  • Culinary degree or diploma preferred
  • Current food safety certification required
  • Knowledge of halal meat preparation practices
  • Familiarity with local Saudi cuisine and meat preferences is a plus
  • Ability to work in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and adapt to the local work environment
