Overview

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Specialist with Refinery Experience to join our Global Manufacturing Excellence organization to work under the Decarbonization and Sustainability Division on environmental protection and performance aspects.

Decarbonization and Sustainability Division provides support to Saudi Aramco Global Manufacturing wholly owned and affiliates' facilities in assessing and advising on the deployment and adoption of decarbonization, energy and environmental programs and initiatives. This includes identifying and analyzing operational challenges and developing engineering solutions to improve energy efficiency and GHG emissions.

Your primary role is to provide expert guidance and support in establishing environmental business plans, objectives, and emission baselines, developing solutions to environmental problems, conducting environmental performance calculations, daily monitoring and reporting, collecting and analyzing data to observe GHG reduction opportunities, advising to improve performance, and identifying deviations and developing solutions to environmental problems.

Key Responsibilities

As the successful candidate, you will be required to perform the following:

  • Monitor facility operating and business plans objectives to ensure consistency with Saudi Aramco environmental protection policy and all applicable environmental policies, GIs, and standards.
  • Identify deviations and develop solutions to environmental problems to ensure mitigation of facilities' environmental risk and improve compliance with company and governmental regulations.
  • Conduct full potential GHG and environmental assessments and provide recommendations.
  • Develop, review, and implement Green House Gas management plans.
  • Conduct internal GHG assessments for facilities such as refineries, NGL fractionation plants, petrochemical plants, and lube manufacturing plants.
  • Monitor solids and chemical disposals to guarantee environmental safety in compliance with regulations.
  • Monitor air quality, wastewater, water conservation, and waste management performance.
  • Develop, review, and deploy facilities' environmental management systems in alignment with ISO14001.
  • Develop and maintain environmental procedures and guidelines.
  • Conduct internal environmental performance benchmarking among oil and gas refineries.

Minimum Requirements

As a successful candidate, you will hold a:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering
  • At least 17 years of experience in oil and gas refineries or petrochemical industries; EPI/QEP certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the oil & gas industry, refining processes, and environmental challenges and risks.
  • Understanding of global and governmental environmental policies, regulations, and standards.
  • Expertise in sustainability data, calculation methodologies, and limitations.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in environmental engineering.
  • Familiarity with ISO-14001 Environmental Management System requirements.
  • Experience in developing decarbonization roadmaps, GHG emission baselines, and target setting.
