A Senior Data Scientist opportunity is available within the Retail Banking Customer Analytics space, based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This is a contract position within the financial services sector, specifically focusing on retail banking. The role is full-time and will run for a fixed duration of one year, (non renewable). About the role

A leading financial institution in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is looking to hire a highly experienced Senior Data Scientist to drive customer analytics initiatives within its Retail Banking division. The role focuses on unlocking value from customer data to support strategic decision-making, personalized customer experiences, and targeted marketing campaigns.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced analytics models focused on customer segmentation, churn prediction, lifetime value modeling, and behavior-based targeting.
• Partner with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Product, and IT to define and deliver data-driven strategies that enhance customer engagement and retention.
• Build and maintain robust data pipelines for the extraction, transformation, and analysis of customer data from multiple sources.
• Develop machine learning models and deploy scalable solutions using Python, SQL, and cloud-based platforms.
• Present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders through well-structured reports and visualizations using tools like Power BI or Tableau.
• Act as a subject matter expert and provide mentorship to junior data scientists and analysts.

Requirements

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in data science or advanced analytics, with a strong emphasis on retail banking or financial services.
• Proven track record of delivering business impact through predictive modeling, customer analytics, and machine learning solutions.
• Expertise in Python, SQL, and commonly used libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn, and NumPy.
• Strong understanding of customer behavior, lifecycle management, and banking KPIs.
• Experience with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations for non-technical audiences.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.

Desirable skills

• Experience working in or with organizations in the GCC region.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance in the Saudi banking sector.
