Minimum qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent practical experience.
2. 10 years of experience in mission-critical facility design and construction environments.
3. 7 years of experience in leadership roles with direct reports.
4. Experience with data center equipment/environments, including switchgear, generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, controls, security monitoring systems, and fire safety systems.
5. Experience with project management.

Preferred qualifications:

1. Knowledge of fast-track design-build processes, associated documents and agreements, and electrical and mechanical systems.
2. Knowledge of startup/commissioning processes.

As a Data Center Services Manager, you will oversee all aspects of data center development and operations. You will collaborate with local and regional facility managers, plant engineers, and design and construction teams to develop scalable, innovative solutions. Your role includes providing leadership and management for teams responsible for data centers, computer farms, networking, power distribution, and cooling systems across various scales. Managing complex schedules, budgets, and dependencies will be key to your success.

Our Technical Infrastructure team builds the architecture that supports our online services. From maintaining data centers to developing new platforms, we enable Google's product ecosystem. We pride ourselves on engineering excellence, often disassembling and rebuilding systems to improve performance. Ensuring network uptime and speed is our priority, providing users with the best possible experience.

Responsibilities

1. Establish and maintain delivery models and global relationships with multiple vendors, tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics.
2. Develop growth plans, participate in hiring and talent recruitment, and create scalable training programs to ensure team success.
3. Research and implement construction methods for data center equipment and facilities, translating design concepts into operational facilities.
4. Manage site-wide data center construction and delivery, acting as the primary point of accountability for major projects and capital improvements, utilizing internal and external resources.
5. Support the development of detailed, localized designs based on the programmatic design plan, and oversee procurement, construction, and commissioning processes.
