A leading consulting firm is seeking a Cybersecurity Architect Consultant to design and implement robust security architectures. This pivotal role involves assessing vulnerabilities, developing security roadmaps, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. You will be working as a cybersecurity professional with a passion for building robust and innovative security architectures. We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Architect Consultant to join our clients dynamic team and play a pivotal role in safeguarding our organization's critical assets.
The key purpose of the position is to design and implement security architecture to protect organizational systems and data, ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability through defined controls and policies.
Responsibilities include:
Review and refine existing security architectures, developing comprehensive security roadmaps.
Conduct thorough assessments of current technology environments (applications, cloud, database, network) to identify vulnerabilities and recommend effective solutions.
Stay abreast of emerging security technologies and trends, integrating them strategically.
Design and implement cybersecurity architectures aligned with industry standards (SABSA, NIST CSF, ISO, 800-53/171), local regulations, and best practices.
Develop and implement hybrid cloud security architectures that meet evolving business needs.
Create and maintain standardized security architecture design patterns for consistent implementation.
Define new security architecture patterns for advanced technologies.
Evaluate the security architecture of technology projects, ensuring alignment with corporate policies and best practices.
Provide expert consultation on project security, evaluating risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
Identify and address gaps in security designs, reference architectures, and design patterns.
Collaborate with technology stakeholders to define and implement necessary security controls.
Ensure systems are built in accordance with cybersecurity standards and architecture patterns.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of security systems, processes, and practices.
Develop and implement relevant security policies, processes, and procedures.
Contribute to the preparation of accurate cybersecurity reports.
What you'll need to succeed
You will require the following to be successful in this position
Bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, computer engineering, information technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 9 years of experience in IT security or cybersecurity architecture.
Proven experience as an Enterprise Security Architect.
Strong understanding of threat and risk modeling, and the implementation of mitigation controls.
Expertise in at least two of the following security practices: cloud security (AWS/Azure/OCI), application/API security, firewalls, IDS/IPS, sandboxing, threat intelligence, vulnerability assessment and mitigation, SIEM, auditing, encryption, data loss prevention, SASE, Zero-trust network access solutions, mobile application/system security.
Preferred certifications: SABSA, CISSP, CISM, CISA.
Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
Ability to role model for junior team members.
Ability to balance security risk with business needs.
