Responsibilities
  • Ensure work is carried out competently and effectively, within time and budget constraints, and that project objectives are satisfied.
  • Overall supervision of Civil and Structural engineers, designers, and technical personnel in the execution of the project.
  • Ensure integrity of work scope and that all work is carried out in accordance with Technical Standards and Company Procedures related to Discipline.
  • Facilitate and develop a productive and cohesive team.
  • Ensure Civil and Structural discipline personnel consistently work within the Quality Management System.
  • Monitor and maintain Civil and Structural engineering estimating norms.
  • Develop and promote initiatives to improve cost effectiveness and productivity on projects.
  • Identify software necessary to enable electrical group to function effectively.
  • Prepare electrical cost, time and resource requirement estimates on assigned projects.
  • Identify and review new technologies development which may provide more efficient and cost-effective solutions.
  • Manage design change within project budget and schedule framework.
  • Prepare Civil and Structural progress and expenditure reports on a project specific basis.
  • Compliance with Regulatory, Legal, Quality and Company Requirements.
  • Developing and checking of calculations, technical notes, requisitions, specifications, drawings and similar deliverables produced within Discipline.
  • Input into Basis of Designs, Design Scopes, and FEED Studies.
  • Specification, selection, detail design in collaboration with multi-discipline engineers and designers through vendor document review and approval.
  • Challenge Discipline Engineering Procedures and Instructions.
  • Input into development and promotion of initiatives to improve cost effectiveness of Discipline.
  • Setting and taking ownership of realistic targets for deliverables.
  • Managing third party inputs.
  • Efficient allocation of time.
  • Maintaining effective relationships with Engineering Manager, Worley Engineers, Designers, Project Managers, and Client Representatives.
  • Quality Assurance – Work within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the Business Unit.
  • Safety – Responsible for personal safety, safe working practices for the chemical industry. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.
Qualification
  • Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Ability to interact effectively with people and use clear, fluent and expressive verbal and written language to convey information and ideas.
  • A thorough knowledge of the codes and standards and a good understanding of engineering practices applicable to civil and structural design for industrial facilities.
  • Extensive current design experience is required leading Civil and Structural engineering teams gained with notable engineering firms or EPC contractors within the mining, chemical or salt industries.
  • Sufficient knowledge of structures integrity, reliability under different steady and transient stress scenarios, including earthquakes and atmospheric events.
  • Relevant experience of the associated engineering disciplines of Electrical, Piping and Process systems would be a distinct advantage.
  • Industrial Relations – Conversant with industrial relations as they impact on the partnering contract.
  • Commitment to personal well-being and a pro-active approach to continuously improving health, safety, and environmental performance.
  • Understands current best practices, key technologies and technology suppliers, technology integration, facility constructability and operability, and contractors in brine processing industry.
  • Understand brine industry benchmark projects and pricing.
  • Flexibility to travel and work effectively with team members in remote areas/Field.
