# Country Communications Lead

The opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Country Communications Lead to join our team. This role involves managing and enhancing the organization's relationships with government entities and overseeing all communication strategies within the country. It includes strategic planning, advocacy, and effective communication to support the organization's objectives and public image. The role is pivotal in ensuring that the organization's interests are well-represented and communicated effectively to both government entities and the public.

How you’ll make an impact

Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies to enhance the organization's public image, both internally and externally, in collaboration with global/HUB communication teams and aligned with business priorities. Responsibilities include writing press releases, speeches, articles, and other communication materials related to government affairs; managing media relations; coordinating internal and external communication efforts; managing external agencies; handling brand positioning, content management, crisis communications, social media, and digital footprint; developing strategies for legislative and regulatory advocacy; monitoring public policy impacts; establishing relationships with government officials and external agencies; representing the organization at meetings, hearings, and press conferences; preparing reports for senior management; leading communication strategies for Saudi Arabia; conducting policy research and analysis; advising executives on policy changes; facilitating government visits; managing relationships with industry coalitions and advocacy groups; supporting key events; measuring communication effectiveness; ensuring legal and policy compliance; and embodying Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity.

Your background

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject with a minimum of 8+ years of experience in media, content, and government relations, preferably with an interest in technology and innovation. Cross-functional communication skills across media, investor relations, branding, editorial, web, and internal communications. International and cross-cultural experience. Proactive engagement with stakeholders at all levels. Knowledge of digital communication channels and social media. Excellent writing and editing skills. Proven ability to analyze metrics and develop relevant insights. Strong networking skills and multicultural credentials. Experience working with senior management. Ability to handle media requests, multitask, and work under pressure. Excellent organizational and leadership skills. Knowledge of communication practices and techniques. Business or industrial technology knowledge is a plus. Proficiency in English and Arabic, spoken and written.
