Job description

A Snapshot of Your Day

The principal responsibility of this position as a Cost Estimator is to perform cost estimating functions for equipment packaged in Dammam and sold based on customer specifications. Role reports to Head of Cost Estimation & Planning CEP. Role requires coordination and interaction across Bid Management, Procurement, Production, Engineering, Finance and Project Management mainly within KSA and partially internationally as well.

How Youll Make An Impact

  • Estimate product line costing: Interpret scope and build estimates using in-house tools, cost books and experience data and calculate a complete and accurate cost of components and assemblies for projects in Dammam
  • Align costing of all involved parties on a project basis and optimize cost position (e.g. by cost review and cost-out meetings)
  • Develop, create and monitor model selections of configurations. Update the data and maintain templates with current costs and applicable tools in Dammam
  • Work directly with Bid Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management and Manufacturing departments to obtain their feedback for building the estimate and updating existing cost models
  • Audit and analyze actual costs with estimated costs to determine if variances exist. Initiate corrective action on any discrepancies and implement lessons learned
  • Manage multiple proposal cost estimates concurrently

What You Bring

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or Finance/Accounting, additional Masters degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, ideally in the Bid Management / Operations area of the Rotating Equipment Industry; product knowledge of Turbo Compressors and ability to understand and consider technical / commercial requirements
  • Strong affinity for the costing / pricing process during the pre-order stage, preferably supported by experience with costing tools
  • Strong drive with motivation skills to accomplish tasks with high quality and on time with attention to detail
  • Advanced knowledge in Office applications
  • Pro-active and hands-on character with economical thinking and a strong will to provide best in class project support and willingness to improve the business every day.
