Job description

Aramco energizes the world economy.

Aramco occupies a special position in the global energy industry. We are one of the world’s largest producers of hydrocarbon energy and chemicals, with among the lowest Upstream carbon intensities of any major producer.

With our significant investment in technology and infrastructure, we strive to maximize the value of the energy we produce for the world along with a commitment to enhance Aramco’s value to society.

Headquartered in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and with offices around the world, we combine market discipline with a forward-looking view of the future, born of our nine decades of experience as responsible stewards of the Kingdom’s vast hydrocarbon resources. This responsibility has driven us to deliver significant societal and economic benefits to not just the Kingdom, but also to communities, economies, and countries relying on our reliable energy supply.

We are one of the most profitable companies in the world, and among the top five global companies by market capitalization.

Overview

We are seeking a Corrosion Engineer to join the Riyas Engineering Division, part of the NGL Fractionation Department (RNGLFD).

The Riyas Engineering Division manages two trains, each designed to process 255 MBOD (242.25 MBCD). Each includes fractionation units, C3 & C4 treatment, dehydration, and propane refrigeration. The facilities include storage, utilities, and systems for steam, condensate, water, air, nitrogen, cooling water, drainage, and flare systems. Some systems are pre-invested for future expansion.

Your primary responsibility as a Corrosion Engineer will be to implement, support, and improve corrosion management programs, provide advice on materials, and ensure the mechanical integrity of plant assets throughout their lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement corrosion management and on-stream monitoring programs, conduct risk-based inspection (RBI) following API-580 standards, review solutions for coating failures, and participate in HAZOP reviews.
  • Manage water treatment programs, review design packages, validate materials and corrosion controls, and troubleshoot corrosion issues.
  • Assess feed composition changes, develop scope for technology deployment, and transfer knowledge on corrosion controls and best practices.
  • Review plant modification designs to address corrosion challenges and explore new materials and advanced applications.
  • Conduct corrosion studies, evaluate data for cost-effectiveness, and review operational activities for system improvements.
  • Maintain and update Corrosion Control Documents (CCD’s) and corrosion loops diagrams reflecting plant changes.
  • Share knowledge, train engineers, and promote best practices in corrosion management.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited university. Advanced degrees are a plus.
  • At least 15 years of experience in oil/gas processing, materials science, metallurgy, NDT technologies, welding, and asset integrity programs in petroleum or petrochemical facilities.
  • Ability to oversee asset integrity programs holistically and drive performance.
  • Strong knowledge of international standards (NACE, ASME, API, ASTM), especially related to inspection and corrosion (e.g., API-571, API-579, API-580, API-570, API-510).
  • Valid NACE certification (e.g., NACE Senior Corrosion Technologist, API-571, NACE CP Level II).
  • Excellent presentation skills for sharing knowledge and presenting to management.
