Job description

Overview:

The Core Network Sr. Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining ADC’s core network infrastructure, including EPC, IMS, and 5GC systems. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the performance, scalability, and reliability of core services and supporting the evolution to next-generation network architectures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the configuration, integration, and testing of 4G/5G Core network elements such as MME, SGW, PGW, AMF, SMF, and UPF.
  • Support service rollouts by ensuring end-to-end core network readiness and performance validation.
  • Analyze signaling flows, troubleshoot core issues, and work closely with vendors to resolve faults.
  • Participate in network planning activities including capacity forecasting and software lifecycle management.
  • Ensure compliance with 3GPP standards, internal security policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain detailed documentation including configuration records, performance benchmarks, and change logs.
  • Collaborate with RAN, Transport, and NOC teams for cross-domain troubleshooting and optimization.
  • Evaluate new features and technologies for adoption into ADC’s core network environment.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Network Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

  • +2 years of experience in EPC and/or 5G Core engineering and integration.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of 4G/5G Core systems, interfaces (S1, S6a, N2, N4, N6), and protocols.
  • Proficiency in vendor equipment (e.g., Huawei, Ericsson, Nokia), troubleshooting tools, and performance analytics.
  • Familiarity with virtualization (NFV, containers) and CI/CD practices for core elements.
