Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Control system Technician to join the Western Area Pipelines Department (WAPD)

This department focuses on transporting oil, gas and refined products throughout the west of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The candidate primary role will be performing all technical support for all field instrumentation and control systems and subsystems at WAPD facilities.

Key Responsibilities :

The successful candidate responsibilities will include the following :

  • Perform necessary maintenance on assigned equipment, replacing parts as required under supervision.
  • Conduct troubleshooting, problem resolutions, maintain systems and software for the following :

c. DCS (Yokogawa, ABB, Honeywell, Siemens)

e. Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) (Bristol Babcock, Emerson, Yokogawa Stardom, ABB)

g. Metering and Proving Control System and Skid.

i. Radar Tank Gauging (RTG).

i. Gas Compressor Control systems; GE Mark Vie; Safety System : GE Mark VieS; Over Speed Protection System : Torquetronic 800; PROMEL Fire and Gas System)

  • Perform skilled maintenance, Maintain and repair field instrumentation and basic supervisory equipment, such as vibration monitoring equipment, using standard test equipment and basic diagnostics.
  • Repair, Maintain and review control system, ESD (Electrostatic discharge), fire & gas operating philosophies and cause and effect charts.
  • Participate in HAZOP studies and provide support for management of change (MOC) if required.
  • Review and participate in conceptual design packages and engineering budgetary cost estimates.
  • Participate in factory acceptance tests and site acceptance tests for instrument items as well as equipment package control systems.

Minimum Requirements :

  • The Candidate must have Bachelor degree in control system or Electrical Engineering from preferred university.
  • A minimum 8 to 10 years of control system experience, preferably in the oil industry or similar process industry.
  • The candidate experience shall be clearly recognizable to handle and perform project and maintenance assignments.
  • Has the required field technical experience related to PLC / DCS / SCADA, control systems, ESD, fire and gas detection systems, CGT / power generator and compressors control systems, Leak Detection Systems (LDS) and metering control systems and other instruments. etc.; Gas Compressor Control systems; GE Mark Vie; Safety System : GE Mark VIES; Over Speed Protection System : Torquetronic 800; PROMEL Fire and Gas System.
  • Demonstrate good grasping hardware interfacing and instrumentation troubleshoot techniques, SCADA and DCS, control systems, simulation and control applications, and software scripting and security configuration, troubleshoots.
  • Solve low to complex technical problems. Specify hardware, software and application functionality of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) & SCADA.
  • Experience in Investigation, root cause analysis, and resolving availability in all SCADA, control systems and ensure that all problems resolved in a timely manner.
  • Mainly be vigilant to contribute disaster recoveries and formulations of preventive and early warning actions.
  • Contribute to compliance assessment and Saudi Aramco Standards for all jobs.
