The Contracts Section Head position involves overseeing projects, conducting reviews, studying the legalities of contracts with clients or subcontractors, and ensuring full compliance with contract terms and conditions.

Key Accountabilities

• Review ITT documents, prepare a list of requirements, address all contractual requirements, and circulate the list to involved departments.
• Review contract documents, issue queries to the Engineer/Employer related to ITT and contract conditions, and prepare a list of items relevant to the financial arrangements.
• Prepare a risk register for identified risks and triggers based on contract conditions.
• Evaluate subcontractor qualifications, prepare related tender and contract documents for subcontract scope.
• Prepare joint venture and consortium agreements as required.
• Draft all contractual letters.
• Prepare variation submittal documents, including particulars of claims.
• Review proposed contract addenda.
• Ensure timely renewal of project bonds and insurance policies.
• Ensure company compliance with all project conditions of contract.
• Draft subcontractor agreements and all contractual correspondence.
• Maintain and update the risk register for contract conditions periodically.
• Ensure subcontractor compliance with project contract conditions.
• Develop department plans, policies, procedures, workflows, and KPIs.
• Create standard contract forms in English and Arabic.
• Prepare project checklists such as initiation and close-out.
• Develop a risk register template.
• Create process maps for department activities like insurance review and contract drafting.
• Build a database for subcontractors, manufacturers, and suppliers for tendering and procurement.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

We Are Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 12+ years of experience in the Contracts Department.
• Knowledge of CLAC & FIDIC standards is preferred.
• Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Proven experience as a Contracts and Claims Engineer in the construction field.
