Job description

To enable local real-time Contract Engineering support, we are seeking an enthusiastic Contracts Engineer to join our close-knit team at Lucy Electric. The role involves consulting with clients to understand their application needs, communicating these to our development and engineering teams, and demonstrating our products to customers when required. The position provides local technical support and engineering resources for contract projects, including generating new contract drawings, options, and Bills of Material (BOMs) to meet customer needs.

This role offers a great development opportunity for a motivated self-starter to learn about Lucy products and their application in the electricity industry.

Job Context

As local support for the wider Contract and Engineering team, the role involves close interaction with design, contract, and technical engineers. Responsibilities include creating contract drawings and engineering BOMs for internal and external customers in KSA and overseas, developing and testing new features for switchgear products, and preparing electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Liaising with customers during product inspections and responding to technical queries to ensure product compliance is also required.

Job Dimensions

The role is office-based at the company premises in Dammam and reports to the Customer Operations Manager based in Dubai.

Key Accountabilities

  • Liaising with Sales, Contracts, Engineering, and global Operations staff to meet customer requirements within deadlines, budgets, and operational constraints.
  • Interpreting customer requirements and internal specifications to produce detailed designs using 3D CAD.
  • Issuing drawings and BOMs to the factory and customers via the Lucy CAD system.
  • Developing secondary designs for specific customers outside the standard configurator system, including prototyping.
  • Contributing to achieving the annual sales target.
  • Working in compliance with ISO 9001 quality standards.
  • Thriving in a high-pressure, developing environment and continuously improving departmental standards and quality.
  • Adhering to all company health and safety policies, procedures, and safe working practices.

Secondary Activities / Tasks

Undertaking additional duties as required to maintain or improve departmental efficiency, quality, and service.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

  • A degree in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering.
  • Proven experience in a similar role.
  • Understanding of manufacturing, people management, financial considerations, quality management, and innovation.
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, with an understanding of different cultures.
  • Curiosity and a proactive attitude to go beyond the obvious.
  • Targeting new opportunities and setting clear objectives.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement.
