Job description

Linum Consult’s client is a major construction company. They are currently seeking a Contracts & Commercial Manager from a main contractor or PMC background to join them in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Responsibilities
  • Preparing, assisting in negotiating and administering the various supply / construction contracts
  • Reviewing all contractual notices of claims and providing contractual advice
  • Interacting with the clients, contractors, vendors and consultants in respect to all contractual matters
  • Reviewing tender documents and draft contract documents prepared by others to verify lack of ambiguity and conflicts as well as compliance with the client’s contract forms and related procedures
  • Investigating potential contractual problems and recommending corrective action
  • Preparing key contractual correspondence and maintaining records necessary to ensure the effective administration of all contractual matters
  • Facilitating the preparation of contract changes and overseeing the preparation of the relevant variation orders by the cost consultant
  • Reviewing any claims against the client in accordance with the provisions of the relevant contracts and taking the lead in preparing the necessary responses along with any counterclaims
  • Ensuring that all warranties, bonds, insurances, securities, etc. are in place and are fully compliant with the relevant contractual provisions
  • Drafting contract amendments for consultants and contractors as necessary for client approval
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly progress reports
  • Managing a team of contract administrators
Profile
  • University degree in an engineering field or quantity surveying is essential
  • Around 15-20 years’ experience in Contract Administration and Quantity Surveying
  • Must have extensive experience of working for main contractors or project management consultancies within the construction sector
  • Strong technical knowledge of FIDIC contracts
  • Middle East experience would be an added benefit
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is essential
