Job description

JOB PURPOSE:

The Continuous Improvement Coordinator will play a crucial role in enhancing productivity, reducing waste, and improving processes within our beverage manufacturing facility. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, design, and implement process improvement initiatives, focusing on lean methodologies and operational excellence to achieve efficiency and quality goals. The role requires a proactive and hands-on approach to fostering a culture of continuous improvement, driving sustainable change, and delivering measurable results.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Safety

  • To analyse the risk/hazards online and by instating Preventive action to prevent, limit, or eliminate the risk.
  • To make the workplace safe and eliminate unsafe conditions and unsafe acts
  • Arrange SAFETY TALK with HSE team for the staff
  • Safety Induction online of all new employees
  • Arranging PPE for the staff and availability of first Aid box with the HSE team.

Quality

  • Regular review of the SOP and monitoring documents.
  • To remove all obsolete documents/ PM/RM from the line with correct procedure and disposition.
  • Raise NCR for any deviations from standards and specifications.
  • To investigate and prepare CAPA for any quality issues, NCR as well as to investigate and Prepare CAPA for any PQC with the Supervisor.
  • Maintain all the ISO-controlled documents and review and arrange for internal audits.
  • To maintain GMP and GHK standards of the line and do regular audits on their own or other lines for benchmarking and action the points through external and internal audits.
  • Responsible for identifying and reporting food safety hazards within the work area.
  • Take ownership of the NCR/RCA system tracking and following up on other functions to close the NCRs and RCAs
  • Should have thorough knowledge about the Quality Parameters of the Product during operation.
  • CI Coordinator to be fully involved in all aspects of quality ownership. Understand and follow all relevant QMS procedures (e.g. ISO, HACCP, QC checks)

Reporting

  • Prepare the daily meeting action plan and act as custodian for that plan.
  • Collect and share the JDI/Kaizen across the factory

Technical

  • The CI Coordinator should have excellent knowledge and understanding of key processes within the area. Should be able to monitor, interpret, and adjust key operating parameters to optimize plant performance to agreed quality, and reliability and minimize material loss targets.
  • Be able to resolve basic to moderate-level technical issues by being fully conversant on how to operate the plant, its operating processes, running checks and maintenance routines, and the RCA process.
  • Support the Sr. Technicians & Operational TL in the fault-finding process.
  • Carry out Autonomous Maintenance engineering work under the guidance of the Sr. Technicians & Operational TL.
  • Ensure that the equipment and the surrounding areas are clean.
  • Have a clear understanding of the operation of all plant equipment.
  • Training Operators to carry out Autonomous Maintenance.
  • Adhere to all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures for health, safety, and environmental compliance

Operational Excellence

  • Identify improvement opportunities within production, quality, and supply chain processes using data analysis, root cause analysis, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Collaborate with departments to map current processes, analyse gaps, and design optimal solutions.
  • Lead and implement lean tools (5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping, SMED, etc.) to eliminate waste, reduce costs, and improve productivity.
  • Organize and facilitate Kaizen events to drive process improvements across various departments
  • Gather and analyze production and performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement, focusing on metrics such as OEE, downtime, yield, and scrap rates.
  • Use statistical analysis tools to evaluate process performance and recommend improvements.
  • Train and coach team members on continuous improvement tools and techniques, fostering a culture of operational excellence and team ownership.
  • Support the development and deployment of training materials related to lean practices and continuous improvement.
  • Manage CI projects from conception through implementation, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Track and report project status, challenges, and achievements to relevant stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Ensure compliance with QSHE (Quality, Safety, Health, and Environmental) standards and company policies in all CI initiatives.
  • Work closely with production, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to implement changes that enhance productivity and product quality.
  • Serve as a liaison between different departments to facilitate the smooth implementation of continuous improvement practices.
