ABOUT THE HOSPITAL

Opened originally in 1983, this 1600-bed flagship National Guard Hospital has continued to expand and develop its services. It offers high-quality services across all medical and surgical specialties, including a highly equipped Cardiac Centre, transplant, and hepatobiliary services.

The Emergency Care Centre is the best Trauma Care Centre in Saudi Arabia and ranks as the 4th outside the USA, providing the (PHTLS) Pre-Hospital Trauma and Life Support programme.

The hospital also includes a specialized children’s hospital, a 600-bed facility that started operations with the Paediatric Emergency Department and transferred 90 patients, including 11 in critical care, in April 2015.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

To qualify as a consultant with this institution and meet licensing standards, candidates should have:

  • 3 years of consultant experience in a Western hospital
  • 3 years post-specialist qualification experience from countries including:
  • UK – CCT
  • USA – American Board
  • Canada – Canadian Fellowship
  • Ireland – CSD/CSCST
  • Australia & New Zealand – Fellowship
  • France – DES/DESC
  • Other European countries according to SCFHS equivalence tables
BENEFITS INCLUDED
  • Salary: To be advised
  • Bonus: ½ month’s salary at end of contract
  • Contract duration: 1 or 2 years, renewable
  • Family status: Spouse and 3 children
