Principal Duties
1. GENERAL DUTIES:
- Assure quality, ethical, and cost-effective delivery of OMFS within the JHAH Organization, including Dhahran, District Clinics, and Hospitals.
- Ensure adequacy of equipment and sterilization for related health services in the above facilities.
- Represent Dentistry and OMFS on hospital and Dental committees.
- Develop policies, treatment guidelines, and technical guidance related to OMFS as defined under "2-Scope".
- Maintain quality assurance through continuing education, meetings, and record reviews.
- Provide continuous, 24-hour emergency coverage.
- Oversee and liaise on medical issues of dental patients.
- Screen and recommend candidates for OMFS, locums, and ancillary staff.
- Participate in in-house education, offering lectures on OMFS topics and producing reports for quality assurance.
- Provide consultative opinions to dentists and physicians on OMFS matters.
2. SPECIFIC SURGICAL DUTIES:
- Perform diagnostic, remedial, and restorative services related to OMFS.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations including radiographic, laboratory, and clinical assessments.
- Plan and execute surgical treatments on hard and soft tissues, including minor and major oral surgeries, trauma management, and correction of congenital defects.
- Manage infectious conditions and perform supportive therapies.
- Use sedation in outpatient services as appropriate.
- Provide consultative services to other healthcare professionals and outside cases upon request.
- Engage in educational activities, including scientific meetings, case report writing, and literature contributions.
- Respond to oral/facial trauma emergencies, participate in disaster team activities, and handle emergency calls.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of practice exclusively in oral/maxillofacial surgery, including residency training.
- Previous administrative or teaching experience is desirable but not mandatory.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Ability to work in a group practice, guide staff, and understand organizational policies.
- Capability to handle a diverse, multinational patient population ethically and professionally.
