Job description

Woodston Personnel is seeking a qualified and experienced Consultant in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology to join the multidisciplinary pediatric team of a prestigious healthcare institution in Saudi Arabia. The consultant will lead the care of children with benign and malignant hematologic disorders and solid tumors, providing expert clinical management and contributing to program development, research, and education. This role demands excellence in diagnostic acumen, treatment planning, and compassionate care for pediatric patients and their families.

Duties and Responsibilities

The consultant will be responsible for:

  1. Diagnose and manage a full range of pediatric hematological and oncological conditions, including leukemias, lymphomas, solid tumors, and sickle cell disease.
  2. Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans, including chemotherapy regimens, blood product management, and supportive care.
  3. Perform and interpret bone marrow biopsies and other relevant diagnostic procedures.
  4. Participate in tumor boards, multidisciplinary rounds, and clinical care planning sessions.
  5. Provide consultative services and second opinions on complex cases within the hospital and network.
  6. Ensure optimal symptom management, palliative support, and quality of life for children and families throughout the treatment continuum.
  7. Mentor junior medical staff, residents, and fellows, and participate in educational programs.
  8. Contribute to clinical research, audits, and quality improvement initiatives in pediatric oncology and hematology.
  9. Maintain accurate and detailed clinical documentation and adhere to institutional and international best practice standards.

  • Valid and current medical license or eligibility for licensure in Saudi Arabia.
  • MUST HAVE postgraduate qualification and specialist training as follows: American Board (US), FRCS (Irish, UK, Canadian, Australian or New Zealand), Diplôme d’Études Spécialisées (DES) / CIS French Board, Facharzt (Germany or equivalent) with recognised Subspecialty Certification, Recognised Fellowship in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 3 - 4 years post-board/fellowship experience in a Consultant role in a tertiary pediatric hematology/oncology setting.
  • Excellent clinical and technical skills in his/her specialty.
  • Knowledge of Arabic is preferred.
