Overview

Woodston Personnel is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant in Pediatric Emergency Medicine to join our client’s dynamic Emergency Department. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality, specialized emergency care for children in a leading healthcare institution committed to clinical excellence, innovation, and compassionate care.


Responsibilities


  • Provide expert clinical care to pediatric patients presenting with emergency conditions.

  • Lead and supervise the pediatric emergency team, including junior doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals.

  • Ensure timely and accurate assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of acute pediatric emergencies.

  • Participate in the development and implementation of clinical guidelines, policies, and best practices within the pediatric emergency department.

  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

  • Provide teaching, training, and mentorship to residents, fellows, and medical students.

  • Participate in quality improvement, audit activities, and clinical governance initiatives.

  • Contribute to departmental research and continuing professional development programs.

Essential Qualifications


  • American Board Certification in Pediatrics (with Pediatric Emergency Medicine subspecialty certification)

  • Canadian Board Certification (FRCPC in Pediatrics with PEM subspecialty)

  • CCT/CCST in Pediatrics with sub-specialization in Pediatric Emergency Medicine (UK)

  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP – Pediatrics & PEM)

  • Facharzt in Pediatrics (Germany/Europe) with additional training in Pediatric Emergency Medicine


Completion of a structured, accredited 2–3 year Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship Program is mandatory.


Minimum 3–4 years of independent practice post board certification and fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at a consultant level or equivalent.
