Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead a major construction supervision project on a remote site. The role oversees delivery to client objectives, programme, budget, and quality across the project lifecycle, coordinating contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.

The successful candidate will provide senior leadership, manage risks and costs, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive a high-performance team culture in a challenging remote environment within the Middle East region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 20 years of experience delivering large-scale construction projects.
• Proven experience as a Project Director or senior leader in construction supervision.
• Strong background in remote-site construction supervision.
• Experience managing complex multi-disciplinary projects from construction through handover.
• Extensive experience with high-value or landmark developments.
• Strong commercial, contractual, and programme management expertise.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to operate effectively in remote site environments.
• Experience in Saudi Arabia or the wider Middle East is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and direction for site-based project delivery, ensuring alignment with client objectives, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
• Act as the primary point of accountability for project execution, performance, and delivery outcomes on site.
• Lead the construction supervision phase, ensuring effective coordination between contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Oversee all site operations, ensuring works are executed in accordance with approved designs, specifications, and standards.
• Manage and resolve interface issues across disciplines, ensuring fully coordinated delivery.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation and recovery plans where required.
• Maintain oversight of project costs, variations, and change control processes.
• Ensure adherence to project programme, including schedule monitoring and reporting.
• Act as the senior client interface on site, providing clear, timely, and accurate reporting.
• Engage with local authorities, stakeholders, and third parties as required to support project delivery.
• Lead commercial discussions, negotiations, and issue resolution at senior level.
• Ensure full compliance with local regulations, codes, and authority requirements.
• Champion health, safety, quality, and environmental standards across all site activities.
• Lead, mentor, and manage the project team on site, fostering a high‑performance and collaborative culture.
• Oversee resource planning, team performance, and succession planning throughout the project lifecycle.
