Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Coordination: Oversee the mechanical scope of work for construction projects, ensuring mechanical systems are integrated smoothly into the overall design and project goals. Develop detailed mechanical work plans, including schedules, resource allocation, and material requirements. Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure mechanical systems meet project requirements and are compliant with local building codes and industry standards.
  2. Budget Management: Prepare cost estimates for mechanical work and manage the budget for mechanical systems, ensuring that work is performed within the allocated budget. Develop and maintain project schedules for mechanical work and ensure milestones are met within set timeframes. Track expenditures and adjust plans as necessary to control costs without compromising quality.
  3. Team Leadership and Supervision: Lead, supervise, and mentor mechanical teams, subcontractors, and other personnel involved in the mechanical installation. Assign tasks and responsibilities to mechanical crews, ensuring work is completed to the highest standards and according to safety protocols. Foster a positive work environment, providing ongoing training and development to the mechanical team.
  4. Quality Control and Safety Compliance: Ensure that all mechanical installations comply with relevant national and local codes, standards, and safety regulations. Regularly inspect mechanical work to verify quality, functionality, and compliance with specifications. Monitor work to ensure the safety of the construction site, enforcing safety standards and guidelines for the mechanical teams.
  5. Problem Solving and Issue Resolution: Identify, analyze, and resolve mechanical issues that arise during the construction process, offering solutions to maintain the project timeline. Address any design discrepancies, performance issues, or technical challenges related to mechanical systems. Work with project teams to adjust plans or schedules as needed to accommodate unforeseen mechanical challenges.
  6. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of mechanical work, including designs, inspections, testing, certifications, and change orders. Prepare and submit regular progress reports to senior management on the status of mechanical installations and any issues or delays. Ensure that all required documentation is complete and submitted for audits, permits, or inspections.
  7. Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration: Serve as the primary point of contact for all mechanical-related matters during the construction phase. Communicate regularly with the project manager, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution. Participate in project meetings, providing updates on mechanical systems and coordinating mechanical work with other departments.

Key Competencies:

  2. Decision-Making: Quick thinking is needed to resolve issues that may impact project progress or safety.
  3. Communication: The ability to communicate technical details clearly to non-technical stakeholders and ensure alignment across teams.
  4. Adaptability: Mechanical work can be unpredictable, and the ability to adjust plans to accommodate unforeseen challenges is essential.

Requirements:

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
  2. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical construction management, mechanical systems and installations.
