Job Purpose

Analyze market trends and economic conditions to provide strategic insights for commodity investments and procurement. Evaluate risks, develop forecasts, and optimize strategies to ensure cost efficiency and capitalize on market opportunities. Leverage data analysis techniques and collaborate with teams to align commodity strategies with business goals.

Key Accountability Areas

Market Analysis and Research

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of global commodity markets, including supply, demand, pricing trends, and economic indicators.
  • Monitor geopolitical events, weather patterns, and regulatory changes that could impact commodity prices.
  • Develop comprehensive market reports and forecasts to inform strategic decision-making.

Risk Assessment and Management

  • Identify and assess potential risks in commodity trading and procurement.
  • Develop risk management strategies to mitigate exposure to market volatility and fluctuations.
  • Provide recommendations for hedging and other financial instruments to manage risk.

Strategic Planning and Optimization

  • Collaborate with procurement and trading teams to develop and implement commodity strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Optimize commodity sourcing and purchasing decisions to maximize cost savings and minimize risk.
  • Analyze data to identify opportunities for improving commodity supply chain efficiency and profitability.

Data Analysis and Reporting
