Job Description
Purpose of Duty: Responsible for taking orders and serving food and beverages to guests. Playing an important role in guest satisfaction by checking on customers to ensure they are enjoying their meals and taking action to resolve any issues.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Operation:
- Assist the wait staff in setting up and clearing dining areas before and after meals, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
- Serve food and beverages promptly, adhering to service standards and menu knowledge.
- Meet guest needs and handle requests courteously and promptly.
- Assist with table preparation, including utensils, glassware, and condiments.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure correct and timely service.
- Handle guest inquiries about menu items and ingredients, considering dietary restrictions.
- Monitor guest satisfaction to meet service standards throughout the dining experience.
Administration:
- Follow SOPs, manuals, and recipes consistently.
- Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards.
- Maintain accurate records of orders and communicate clearly with kitchen and bar staff.
- Report guest complaints or issues promptly to supervisors.
- Keep the dining area tidy and stocked with supplies like napkins, condiments, and utensils.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including food hygiene standards.
- Assist in maintaining inventory levels and restocking as needed.
Communication:
- Ensure effective communication between FOH and BOH.
- Attend daily team briefings.
- Communicate proactively using communication tools.
- Display professionalism to foster a positive work environment.
- Assist colleagues by understanding needs and providing guidance and coaching.
Finance:
- Maintain operational standards consistently.
Guest Relations:
- Recognize and build rapport with regular guests.
- Create a welcoming environment for new guests.
HR & Training:
- Communicate sensitive issues appropriately.
- Mentor new joiners.
- Train and coach junior staff like Commis and runners.
- Participate in seminars, training, and product demos.
Job Role Specifications
- Good understanding of hospitality industry.
- Ability to work collaboratively across functions.
- Remain calm and solution-oriented under pressure.
- Problem-solving skills in standardized situations.
- Knowledge of POS software.
- Health & Safety Certification Level 1.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience.
- English proficiency; Arabic is a plus.
- Flexible, resourceful, and highly skilled.
- Friendly, reliable, and trustworthy.
