Job description

The Commercial Sales Manager is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, forging strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth for the Skills business segment. A key priority for this role is to develop and implement sales strategies, manage the sales team, nurture client relationships, and identify new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  1. Conduct market research to identify potential clients, industry trends, and the competitive landscape.
  2. Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve skills revenue targets, expand the Skills client base, and increase market share within the commercial sector.
  3. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry influencers.
  4. Generate leads through networking, cold calling, and other business development activities.
  5. Prepare and deliver persuasive presentations to potential clients, showcasing our products/services and value propositions.
  6. Negotiate terms and contracts with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
  7. Track and analyze sales data and business metrics to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement.
  8. Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences through ongoing market research.
  9. Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to capitalize on them.
  10. Stay updated on product features, benefits, and pricing to communicate value propositions effectively to clients.
  11. Collaborate with marketing, product development, training, and supply chain/partnership departments to align sales strategies with overall business objectives.
  12. Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and providing solutions that meet or exceed expectations.
  13. Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for management review.
  14. Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and team sales goals.
  15. Set and monitor sales performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed to meet or exceed targets.
  16. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
  17. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a sales-related field; an MBA is a plus.
  18. Ability to think strategically and develop innovative business solutions.
  19. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders at various levels.
  20. Results-oriented with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  21. Strong leadership skills to inspire and motivate a sales team.
  22. Proven success in Commercial Sales or Employer Engagement roles, with at least 5 years of sales management experience.
