Commercial Manager

Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
JOB PURPOSE

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements to provide equipment, support, and training to Saudi Arabia. We maintain Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel in the use of their aircraft, equipment, and weapons.

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is committed to supporting the Saudi Arabian National Agenda, including Saudisation and the development of Saudi National capabilities through local partnerships, reinforcing industrialization and partnerships.

An exciting opportunity exists to join BAE Systems Arabian Industries (BAESAI) as a Commercial Manager. This role requires strong business acumen, commercial experience, defense industry knowledge, and full commercial skillset. The role involves working with multi-functional Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) to realize BAESAI's vision of being a premier Saudi Arabian defense company, supporting Vision 2030.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity for personal development, work independently, be proactive, diligent, and possess excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a commitment to high performance and delivery.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
  1. Produce contractual documentation aligned with BAESAI requirements and procedures.
  2. Draft agreements, liaise with Legal, and support contract negotiations.
  3. Manage commercial and contract activities, resolving issues effectively.
  4. Develop and implement pricing and payment strategies.
  5. Manage financial targets and budgets.
  6. Identify risks, conduct analyses, and support risk mitigation.
  7. Build and maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders throughout the contract lifecycle.
  8. Provide legal and contractual advice to facilitate business decisions and dispute resolution.
  9. Monitor commercial activities to ensure quality and cost standards are met.
  10. Lead, develop, and motivate staff to meet responsibilities.
  11. Develop and implement commercial procedures and policies.
  12. Stay updated on commercial developments and assess their applicability.
  13. Ensure strategic engagement and alignment with key suppliers and entities.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
Essential
  • Degree or equivalent qualification with extensive commercial experience.
  • Knowledge of business policies used by BAE Systems or similar.
  • Experience with Logistics Support and Support Solution Contracts is desirable.
  • Ability to draft and negotiate agreements with external vendors.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders in bid management and contract delivery.
  • Proven track record managing complex business issues.
  • Experience dealing with UK, KSA, and overseas customers and suppliers.
