Commercial Manager

Job Purpose

BAE Systems is the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements to provide equipment, support, and training to Saudi Arabia. We maintain Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel in a safe training environment on their aircraft, equipment, and weapons.

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia supports the Saudi Arabian National Agenda, including Saudisation and the development of Saudi National capabilities through local partner companies, reinforcing industrialisation and partnerships.

An exciting opportunity is available to join BAE Systems Arabian Industries (BAESAI) as a Commercial Manager. This role requires strong business acumen, commercial experience, defence industry knowledge, and a full commercial skillset. The position involves working with multi-functional Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) to realize BAESAI's vision of becoming a leading Saudi Arabian defence company, supporting Vision 2030.

The role offers significant personal development opportunities. The role involves managing relationships with stakeholders within BAE Systems Saudi Arabia, the UK, and other external entities, playing a key role in strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop contractual documentation aligned with BAESAI requirements and procedures.
  2. Draft agreements, liaise with Legal, and support contract negotiations to ensure successful outcomes.
  3. Manage commercial and contractual activities, resolving issues efficiently.
  4. Assist in developing pricing and payment strategies in accordance with company policies.
  5. Contribute to financial planning and budget management.
  6. Identify risks, perform risk analyses, and support risk mitigation efforts.
  7. Build and maintain relationships with customers to manage contracts throughout their lifecycle.
  8. Provide guidance on commercial, contractual, and legal issues to facilitate decision-making and dispute resolution.
  9. Monitor commercial activities, including negotiations, to ensure quality and cost objectives are met.
  10. Lead, develop, and motivate staff to ensure responsibilities are fulfilled.
  11. Help develop and implement commercial procedures and policies.
  12. Research new commercial developments and assess their applicability to the company.
  13. Ensure alignment with key suppliers and entities across BAE Systems Group.
