Role Description

The job holder will provide commercial leadership to the business, promoting a culture of informed decision-making and supporting contract negotiations aligned with the Integrated Business Plan (IBP). The role requires effective financial control and adherence to Life Cycle Management and the Operational Framework. In support of Saudi Arabia Vision 2030, the job holder will also focus on optimizing career opportunities for Saudi nationals, transferring key commercial expertise, and ensuring BAES SDT develops significant indigenous capability and value for Saudi Arabia.

Qualifications, Experience, and Business Expertise

  1. Relevant Degree or equivalent with approximately 15+ years of commercial/procurement experience.
  2. Experience working effectively with BAE Systems Group, Business Units, and senior stakeholders.
  3. Strong relationship development and influencing skills.
  4. In-depth knowledge of market competitors, supply base, products/services, and strategies to meet business needs.
  5. Extensive knowledge of financial, commercial, and procurement policies, including Life Cycle Management.
  6. Proven experience in managing high-value, complex contracts.
  7. Membership or Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, or accreditation by IACCM or equivalent.

Objectives & Outline Accountabilities

  1. Develop and implement governance, policies, and processes to enhance commercial and procurement capabilities.
  2. Ensure team activities are integrated throughout the project lifecycle.
  3. Support business development, cash management, and sustainable profitability.
  4. Lead contract negotiations and determine pricing and payment strategies.
  5. Manage financial targets and budgets.
  6. Identify and mitigate potential risks through analysis and assessments.
  7. Build and maintain relationships with customers and partners to manage business agreements effectively.
  8. Lead resolution of commercial issues and facilitate business decision-making.
  9. Conduct regular reviews with customers and partners to ensure obligations and targets are met.
  10. Inspire and develop team capabilities.
  11. Develop and communicate the Functional Governance Plan to ensure strong governance and business effectiveness.
  12. Coordinate with Finance, Legal, HR, and Group Tax to establish effective contracting and pricing models.
  13. Lead RBA activities and chair/tender activities.
  14. Assess commercial and procurement plans in support of LCM.
