Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Commercial / Contracts Manager! You will be responsible and accountable for the administration of a portfolio of contracts related to Airfield Assets, overseeing the overall performance of his/her team in accordance with applicable industry standards, providing support and guidance to subordinate staff, and ensuring compliance with applicable governance.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Ensure the Contract Management activities are undertaken in compliance with the client’s objectives, strategies, policies, plans, procedures, and applicable regulations / standards templates.

  • Implement best practices, methodologies and strategies, as required.

  • Identify opportunities for improvements and innovations.

  • Ensure the proper and timely administration of contracts awarded by the client in relation to the Airfield Assets delivery programme.

  • Manage the contractual correspondence to ensure it is handled in accordance with the highest standards to address notices / disputes / claims from the consultants / contractors / suppliers in a timely manner, minimizing risks / costs for the client and preserving the client’s / Parsons’ reputation.

  • Ensure that the consultants’ / contractors’ / suppliers’ payment applications are certified on time and in accordance with applicable procedures.

  • Lead the resolution of non-compliances, disputes and claims and ensure all changes to contracts are formalized via Variations while preserving the client’s interests and reputation.

  • Ensure compliance with the client’s Local Content policy.

  • Report the performance of consultants / contractors / suppliers to the client on a regular basis Provides technical guidance to assigned personnel, and ensures proficiency and timeliness of commercial management and contract administration.

  • Collaborates with the client and third parties (including State owned entities) to ensure thorough and timely contract management practices

  • Collaborates with engineering, technical and project management teams to ensure proper contract administration, payments certification, variations administration and claims management.

  • Proactive approach to risk identification and change management.

  • Negotiates the more difficult, complex, or sensitive issues with clients.

  • Maintains an active participation in related professional societies to keep abreast of relevant contractual issues.

  • Draft high quality and professional contractual notices

  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring;

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field and typically 10+ years of prime contract administration experience within a large international engineering and construction firm is required.

  • Requires a comprehensive knowledge of industry business practices and understanding of FIDIC based prime contracts predominantly in the Utilities sector.

  • Incumbent must possess strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and a working knowledge of PC software packages typically associated with contract administration (such as Aconex).

  • Proven ability to perform in a management capacity is also required

  • Proven ability to manage and interface with clients and third parties
