The CNC Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines, primarily for wood-based applications. Key responsibilities include preparing CNC files, machine setup, quality inspection, maintenance, and ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and aligned with production priorities.


Main Accountabilities


  1. Operate CNC machines (wood routers, beam saws, etc.) to perform precise cutting, shaping, drilling, and finishing operations.
  2. Read and interpret technical drawings and job orders to determine CNC operation requirements.
  3. Prepare CNC cutting files, load, and verify files using software, ensuring correct tool paths and machine settings.
  4. Plan and schedule CNC tasks according to priorities provided by the Production Supervisor to ensure timely completion.
  5. Input machine instructions and set parameters based on material type and job design.
  6. Inspect raw materials before processing for quality and suitability.
  7. Perform tool changes, offset adjustments, and calibration to maintain accuracy.
  8. Run test samples and verify settings before full production runs.
  9. Monitor machine operations and make adjustments to ensure optimal output and quality.
  10. Inspect and measure finished components against specifications using calibrated tools.
  11. Document machine usage daily and submit CNC reports monthly.
  12. Conduct preventive maintenance and report malfunctions or errors.
  13. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area to ensure efficient operations.
  14. Ensure tools, machinery, and equipment are in proper working order and stored correctly when not in use.
  15. Implement and enforce 5S principles and Lean management techniques to optimize workflows.
  16. Follow the Company Safety Policy and adhere to Safe Systems of Work and HSE procedures.
