Job description

At Electra, we need talented people that will share our strategy to be the obvious partner contracting for local & international players who wish to set up an event within the GCC.

The CNC Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines—particularly for wood-based applications. The role involves preparing CNC files, machine setup, quality inspection, maintenance, and ensuring all work is completed efficiently, safely, and in line with production priorities.

Main Accountabilities
  1. Operate CNC machines (wood routers, Beam saw, etc.) to perform precise cutting, shaping, drilling, and finishing operations.
  2. Read and interpret technical drawings and job orders to determine CNC operation requirements.
  3. Prepare CNC cutting files, load, and verify CNC cutting files using software, ensuring the correct tool paths and machine settings are applied.
  4. Plan and schedule CNC tasks as per priorities provided by the Production Supervisor, ensuring timely execution of jobs.
  5. Input machine instructions and ensure correct parameters for material type and job design.
  6. Inspect raw materials before processing to ensure quality and suitability.
  7. Perform tool changes, offset adjustments, and calibration to maintain precision and accuracy.
  8. Run test samples and verify settings before starting full production runs.
  9. Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as necessary to ensure optimal output and quality.
  10. Inspect and measure finished components to verify adherence to specifications using calibrated tools.
  11. Document the machine usage daily and submit the CNC report on a monthly basis.
  12. Conduct preventive maintenance and report equipment malfunctions or errors.
  13. Ensure that the working area is kept clean, organized, and safe, maintaining optimal conditions for efficient work.
  14. Ensure that tools, machinery, and equipment are in proper working order and are stored correctly when not in use.
  15. Implement and enforce 5S principles and Lean management techniques to optimize workflows and improve efficiency.
  16. Under the Company Safety Policy, the team leader has a responsibility to follow the above duties in a safe manner in accordance with the Safe Systems of Work and the procedures laid down under the health and safety environment (HSE).
