Job description

The nursing program is seeking a Clinical Instructor responsible for supervising and teaching nursing students in clinical settings, helping them apply their theoretical knowledge to real-world patient care. This role involves working closely with students during their clinical rotations, providing guidance and feedback, and ensuring that students meet the competency standards required for safe, effective nursing practice. The Clinical Instructor will collaborate with faculty, healthcare professionals, and students to ensure high-quality clinical education and the development of nursing skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide direct supervision and guidance to nursing students during their clinical rotations in healthcare settings (e.g., hospitals, clinics).
  2. Assist students in performing clinical skills and procedures, ensuring that they are practicing safely and effectively.
  3. Promote student learning by fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment.
  4. Ensure students adhere to professional standards, protocols, and guidelines in clinical practice.
  5. Assess student performance in clinical settings, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  6. Complete required clinical evaluation forms and track students’ progress toward meeting program competencies.
  7. Work with students to set goals for improvement and offer guidance for achieving these goals.
  8. Coordinate with nursing faculty and clinical coordinators to ensure clinical experiences align with program learning objectives.
  9. Participate in faculty meetings and clinical team discussions to share insights about student progress and clinical education needs.
  10. Contribute to the development and updating of clinical curriculum and training materials.
  11. Serve as a mentor and role model for students, providing guidance on professional behaviors, ethical practice, and career development.
  12. Support students in developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills through hands-on clinical experiences.
  13. Assist in identifying students who may require additional academic or clinical support.
  14. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance, attendance, and clinical progress.
  15. Complete all required documentation on time, including student evaluations and clinical assessments.
  16. Help schedule and coordinate clinical rotations, ensuring that students receive a balanced and comprehensive learning experience.
  17. Ensure that students follow patient safety protocols, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  18. Teach evidence-based nursing practices to promote high-quality care and positive patient outcomes.
  19. Ensure that students demonstrate cultural competence and respect for patient diversity in the clinical setting.
Requirements
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a reputable university.
  • Certified training in the specialization is an added value.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of clinical nursing experience in general nursing.
  • Previous experience in clinical teaching or mentorship is preferred but not required.
  • Strong clinical background and knowledge of nursing best practices and patient care standards.
Skills:
  • Ability to develop teaching plans and mentorship strategies.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of dashboards, computers, and digital devices.
  • Ability to provide academic leadership.
  • Effective presentation skills.
