Job description

The Application Specialist will use their healthcare, business, and InterSystems product knowledge to ensure successful, standard, and timely contracting and implementation of InterSystems products. The Application Specialist will become an “expert” in the Oncology/Physician product resource for customers and will be expected to understand customer processes, assess the best-fit solutions, and advise on optimal implementation strategies to maximize benefits while minimizing customer-specific work. They must stay updated with new product developments through the product release cycle. The role requires visiting customer sites and may involve regular travel, potentially up to 5 days away from home each week.

The Application Specialist will act in accordance with the latest version of the InterSystems ARIES Customer Engagement Methodology, which is subject to ongoing improvement. The responsibilities include:

Discovery
  1. Review proposal and tender documentation prior to release to the customer and inform colleagues of functionality gaps.
  2. Analyze customer processes.
  3. Identify gaps and potential solutions.
  4. Conduct solution presentation sessions with the customer.
Launch
  1. Facilitate Customer Induction workshops.
  2. Advise customers on how adopting InterSystems solutions can improve their processes.
  3. Propose solutions that utilize standard ISC product components, minimizing variations.
  4. Create clear documentation, including business requirements, solution design, and validation scripts.
  5. Ensure early data collection is accurate and scheduled.
  6. Log configuration changes and follow up with the product team.
Setup
  1. Configure customer sites.
  2. Create validation scripts and participate in system validation and data migration testing.
  3. Log and troubleshoot issues, support customer validation, and document handover documentation.
Adoption
  1. Participate in Dry Run processes.
  2. Prepare training materials and conduct training sessions and workshops.
  3. Support Customer Go-Live with on-site assistance.
Sustain
  1. Coordinate with other departments to resolve issues.
  2. Complete the support handover.
Ongoing Responsibilities
  1. Support colleagues, maintain documentation, and learn new functionalities.
Essential Qualifications
  1. Excellent communication skills, experience in training, workshops, and presentations.
  2. Experience in customer interaction, including clinicians, with strong messaging skills.
  3. Minimum 3 years’ healthcare experience with understanding of clinical and administrative processes.
  4. Experience in software solution implementation, business process mapping, and writing functional documents.
  5. Knowledge of Information Systems, proficiency in English, and a university degree in Medicine.
  6. Clinical specialty in Medicine or Medical fields.
  7. Experience with EMR systems, IT services in customer-facing settings, and change management.
  8. Good computer skills and experience in software testing.
