The Cinema Manager has the overall responsibility and accountability for revenue generation; and leading and managing the cinema operation in line with regulations; legislative requirements and company standards. To maintain operational efficiencies and adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures always. As a Cinema Manager, you are accountable for the development of your team, to ensure a quality customer experience is always delivered.
The cinema manager must ensure effective running of the cinema at all times. A shift schedule is provided as a guideline, however this must not dictate the effectiveness of the role. If required to return to the cinema, once your shift has ended, or to extend the period of work, to complete your duties, this must take place.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management:
Oversee all aspects of cinema operations, including ticket sales, concessions, projection, and maintenance.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
Monitor and maintain the quality of the cinema experience, including picture and sound quality, cleanliness, and overall ambiance.
Coordinate with technical staff to address any technical issues promptly.
Staff Management:
Recruit, hire, train, and supervise cinema staff, including box office personnel, ushers, concession stand workers, and projectionists.
Create work schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels to meet customer demand.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff members.
Provide training on customer service standards and ensure staff adhere to them.
Customer Service:
Ensure a high level of customer service is provided to all cinema patrons.
Address customer complaints or concerns promptly and effectively.
Monitor customer feedback and take appropriate actions to improve the customer experience.
Maintain a welcoming and friendly atmosphere in the cinema.
Financial Management:
Develop and implement strategies to maximize revenue and profitability.
Monitor and control expenses, such as labor costs and inventory management.
Analyze financial reports, including ticket sales, concessions, and other income streams.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth.
Marketing and Promotion:
Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement marketing strategies to attract and retain customers.
Plan and execute promotions, special events, and film screenings.
Monitor market trends and competitor activities to stay competitive in the industry.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in cinema management or a similar role is highly desirable.
Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Knowledge of cinema operations, including ticketing systems, digital projection, and concessions.
Familiarity with health and safety regulations in the entertainment industry.
Proficiency in financial management and ability to analyze financial reports.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
