Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and efficient Chief Steward to join our team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. As the backbone of our kitchen operations, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and operational efficiency in our food service areas.

Responsibilities

  1. Oversee all stewarding operations, ensuring a clean, organized, and efficient back-of-house environment.
  2. Implement and maintain strict adherence to local health and safety regulations, including HACCP compliance.
  3. Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment, and utensils, ensuring optimal stock levels at all times.
  4. Coordinate closely with kitchen and F&B teams to provide clean, dry equipment as needed.
  5. Supervise and train stewarding staff, fostering a positive and motivational work environment.
  6. Control costs and manage payroll efficiently to optimize department performance.
  7. Conduct regular inspections of all food service areas to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards.
  8. Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Hygiene Manager to implement and improve cleaning procedures.
  9. Handle guest and employee inquiries professionally and courteously.
  10. Lead by example during peak periods, assisting the team hands-on when necessary.
  11. Oversee night cleaning operations to ensure all areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness.
  12. Implement strategies to minimize breakages and reduce losses.
  13. Stay updated on the latest cleaning technologies and eco-friendly practices in the industry.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  1. Proven experience as a Chief Steward or in a similar role in a high-volume food service environment.
  2. In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations, including HACCP principles.
  3. Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and manage a diverse team.
  4. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  5. Proficiency in inventory management and cost control.
  6. Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
