Job summary

saudigeophysical is seeking a Chief Database Geoscientist to oversee database infrastructure and integration with exploration workflows. You will tailor procedures and the database design to fit the needs of the exploration team, ensuring data integrity and quality across projects.

You will lead a team of database geoscientists, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and drive data-driven decisions while maintaining a focus on accuracy and scalable data management practices.

Qualifications

• Proficient in SQL and SQL Server Management Studio.
• Experience with Fusion, DataShed or Aquire.
• Geological database experience at major/mining firms with large portfolios.
• Experience implementing a database system at a new site.
• Focus on error prevention and data integrity.
• Detail oriented with ability to recognize anomalous data.
• Ability to integrate exploration principles with data management.
• Knowledge of Python and big data analytical tools.
• Proficient in BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

Overview

The Chief Database Geoscientist understands both database infrastructure / management as well as the exploration work flow. They adapt and customize procedures and the database structure in order to suit the needs of the exploration team. They are responsible for a team of database geoscientists who will support and maintain the integrity and quality of exploration data.
