JOB PURPOSE
Oversee, guide, and direct the commercial division including Business Development, Marketing, Account Management and Pricing & Proposals functions to drive revenue growth and market expansion. Ensure alignment with MUAF’s strategic direction by developing and implementing commercial initiatives and fostering strong client relationships to drive the overall commercial success of the organization.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Generic Accountabilities
- As a member of the executive management team, participate in the development and refinement of MUAF’s overall vision and strategy, and contribute to the overall process of corporate management and decision-making to ensure the organization achieves its short, medium- and long-term objectives.
- In conjunction with the CEO, formulate and direct the implementation of the divisional strategy and ensure that the overall business strategy is translated into annual operational business plans for the division, in line with MUAF’s vision, mission, and corporate objectives.
- Provide overall direction for the achievement of divisional objectives through effective leadership and by setting individual objectives, as well as developing and motivating team to maximize performance and to provide opportunities for growth.
- Ensure effective collaboration with internal stakeholders in all related divisional matters, to co-deliver defined key performance indicators (KPIs) in line with business plans and to support the achievement of operational excellence.
- Oversee the development of policies, systems, processes, procedures, and controls covering all functional areas of the division and lead their proper implementation so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service in a consistent manner.
- Manage change within the division by continuously improving systems and practices in line with leading practices and changes in the business environment.
- Direct the preparation and consolidation of the division budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues; areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.
- Direct the preparation of periodical management reports and progress reports to keep the senior management informed about the progress of various initiatives and to facilitate decision-making.
Job Specific Accountabilities
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
- Guide and direct the identification, evaluation, and pursuit of new opportunities by staying updated on market trends and dynamics and in alignment with MUAF’s strategic goals, in order to accelerate growth.
- Direct comprehensive market outlook studies by facilitating collaboration with industry experts and translating market insights into actionable initiatives that align with short-term and long-term objectives.
- Lead business analysis and business case building for MUAF’s potential entry into new markets, non-military sectors and product lines, in order to support informed decision-making and ensure the success of commercial decisions.
- Guide commercial decision-making on MUAF’s potential entry into new markets, non-military sectors and product lines in collaboration with key business stakeholders and top management, in order to drive business growth and achieve organizational objectives.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external, by proactively identifying and reaching out to best-fit partners to secure beneficial partnerships that will advance MUAF’s market presence.
MARKETING
- Champion the formulation of MUAF’s marketing strategies and campaigns by aligning with branding specifications to reinforce market presence and achieve business targets.
- Steer brand identity development by managing the production of marketing materials and unifying branding guidelines under a brand manual to create a unique identity for MUAF and maintain brand consistency across all channels.
- Lead MUAF’s creative vision by overseeing design, development, and content creation to produce compelling marketing materials that resonate with target audiences.
- Guide the creation of digital engagement strategies particularly for social media and content marketing through market research and competition benchmarking to elevate MUAF’s online presence and drive user interaction.
- Guarantee that MUAF’s corporate image and identity, as reflected through internal and external communications remains consistent and in alignment with MUAF’s established standards and desired status.
ACCOUNT MAMAGEMENT
- Guide the development of the end-to-end contract management process by adopting international best-practices and facilitating adequate training to account managers in order to ensure client satisfaction and successful project delivery.
- Ensure that account managers establish and maintain good relationships with clients by implementing effective customer relationship management practices and facilitating client feedback sessions in order to enhance client satisfaction and drive continuous improvement.
- Enable the generation of new business through building strong relationships with existing and new accounts, in order to drive business growth.
- Provide strategic guidance to account managers by offering insights and swiftly intervening to resolve potential challenges or issues with clients, in order to maintain strong client relationships and safeguard MUAF’s reputation.
PRICING & PROPOSALS
- Oversee the development and standardization of tendering procedures and workflows by guiding the creation of submission templates and centralizing the compilation of required company documentation to ensure all bids / submissions adhere to contract terms, conditions, and are in compliance with submission requirements.
- Provide guidance and direction in the analysis of project costs, evaluation of direct and indirect expenses, and the setting of profitability and contingency margins through the use of digital tools (ERP) and in collaboration with relevant departments to submit competitive bids and maximize the chance of contracts being awarded to MUAF.
- Lead the creation of a comprehensive tender participation strategy by continuously updating a tendering pipeline to identify projects that align with MUAF’s growth strategy and ensure readiness for submissions and maximizing the chances of winning bids.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent from a recognized and accredited university
- Master’s degree is preferred
Minimum Experience:
- 12+ years of relevant experience in Business Development, Tendering, Project Management, or any other related field
- A proven track record of dynamic and successful leadership in a commercial position.
