Chief Accountant

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

1. Supervising daily accounting operations, mentoring staff, ensuring teamwork and efficient operation.
2. Verifying daily bank balances through review of bank statements, preparing bank reconciliation and credit card reconciliation for Director of Finance approval.
3. Verifying the accuracy of General Cashier report and ensuring that revenue is daily deposited into the bank by the General Cashier.
4. Performing month-end accounts reconciliation of all general ledger balances before issuing monthly financial statements and reporting any gaps or variance to the Director of Finance.
5. Reviewing monthly reports like F&B report, Cost Controller’s report etc. as per hotel policy.
6. Ensuring all tax payments and filings are respected timely, and variances are resolved.
7. Preparing various monthly reports as required by Management.
8. Assisting the Director of Finance in reviewing CAPEX, application of accounting policy, budgeting, financial analysis, and ad hoc duties.
9. Ensuring proper filing of accounting records, including contracts, and easy retrievals.
10. Keeping updated with new regulations and IHG policies.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
3. Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., PeopleSoft, Opera, etc.).
4. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
