Chief Accountant

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Chief Accountant to join our clients finance team in Riyadh. Due to Diversity requirements, the ideal candidate will be a native Arabic speaker with a minimum of 2-3 years of Saudi experience as a Senior Accountant or Chief Accountant. This role requires strong expertise in Zakat, Taxes, Financial Reporting, and Fixed Asset Management. The successful candidate will play a key role in reviewing financial documents before they are submitted to the Finance Director, ensuring all financial processes and records are in compliance with the company's policies and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting:
   1. Review and oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
   2. Ensure that all financial data complies with Saudi regulations, IFRS, and company policies.
   3. Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
   4. Provide detailed analysis of financial performance to management.
2. Zakat and Tax Compliance:
   1. Oversee Zakat and tax calculations in compliance with Saudi regulations.
   2. Ensure timely filing and submission of Zakat and tax returns.
   3. Liaise with tax authorities and external auditors to ensure the company’s compliance with tax laws.
3. Fixed Assets Management:
   1. Manage the company’s fixed assets, ensuring proper tracking, reporting, and reconciliation.
   2. Ensure that asset depreciation and amortization are correctly recorded in financial systems.
4. Financial Controls:
   1. Monitor the implementation of internal controls to safeguard company assets and maintain accurate financial records.
   2. Review and approve journal entries, financial transactions, and account reconciliations.
   3. Ensure that financial transactions are recorded and classified correctly.
5. Supervision and Team Management:
   1. Lead and supervise the accounting team to ensure accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
   2. Provide training and support to junior accounting staff as needed.
   3. Ensure proper communication and coordination with other departments.
6. Audit and Compliance:
   1. Prepare documentation and support for internal and external audits.
   2. Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory financial requirements.

Key Requirements:

1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or similar certification is a plus).
2. Experience:
   1. Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Saudi Arabia as a Senior Accountant or Chief Accountant preferably with Facility Management Companies.
   2. Extensive experience with Zakat and Taxation in Saudi Arabia.
   3. Solid experience in reviewing financial statements, tax filings, and managing fixed assets.
   4. Knowledge of Saudi Accounting Standards and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
3. Language Skills: Native Arabic speaker, fluent in English.
4. Technical Skills:
   1. Proficient in accounting software (experience with ERP systems is preferred).
   2. Advanced MS Excel skills.
   3. Strong understanding of Saudi tax regulations and Zakat requirements.
