Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE: To ensure all manufactured products meet specified PepsiCo- and regulatory standards in terms of specification and food safety compliance and non-conforming finished products, ingredients, packaging materials and raw materials are not released. All PepsiCo Quality and Food Safety system standards are implemented, monitored, audit targets achieved, and relevant plant safety requirements are met.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. To conduct daily analysis on finished products, incoming raw and packaging materials and ensure that only conforming FGRMPM are released and non-conforming ones are isolated and held for further action as per Quality Policy and Procedures.
  2. Participate in inspection visits by regulatory authorities and support addressing issues and concerns.
  3. To ensure GMP is followed by plant personnel and raise relevant issues during the shift.
  4. Participate in monthly Food safety audit and support in implementing FS standards and audit findings.
  5. Meet relevant safety requirements such as Near Miss, chemical management and support implementation of other EHS standards.
  6. Sustain a safe work environment in labs by adhering to SWPs in labs while maintaining high housekeeping standards in line with 5 S.
  7. Attend Sensory evaluation tests during shift including review process and packaging performance hourly performance and follow-up from previous sensory evaluation findings.
  8. Monitor production operator’s product analysis and evaluation both in process and packaging, take action if necessary, and enter results in SPC sheet and weak link.
  9. To communicate timely the results of acceptance and rejections of RMPM to concerned functions, issue reports and take action through SAP.
  10. To take immediate action in case of any noncompliance noticed during analysis and line monitoring by initiating relevant Hold / Release & coordinate with concerned leaders for inspection and action, including CAPA.
  11. To coordinate corrective actions with concerned team leaders if required.
  12. To carry out monthly and quarterly in-market evaluation of finished products, including CQA and PQMd samples.
  13. Participate in internal and external proficiency tests.
  14. Participate in complaint investigations and follow-up corrective actions.
  15. Maintain laboratory area and equipment in good working and tidy condition while meeting safety requirements and maintaining calibration status of lab instruments.
  16. Support developmental activities / projects relevant to the function.
  17. Ensure GMP is followed by plant personnel and raise relevant issues during the shift.
  18. Support in implementing IPS, Food Safety, Lab and Quality standards and follow-up on audit findings.
  19. Authority to accept conforming materials and to hold or reject non-conforming materials and products.
  20. Manage shift activities and enforce GMP in the plant, stop lines in case of critical non-conformity.
  21. Train colleagues and disseminate knowledge gained through internal and external trainings.
  22. Verify production and warehouses concerns related to quality and communicate results.
  23. Implement, sustain and participate in continual improvement of the OH&S Management System in accordance with legislations, PepsiCo GEHSMS and relevant EHS standards, ensuring proper hazard and risk controls are in place and OHS targets are achieved.

Qualifications

Knowledge / Skills: Bachelor’s science degree (preferably in chemistry / Food Science). Excellent command over written and spoken English. Good computer skills with excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Experience: Newly graduated applicants are welcome; however, experienced chemists in a food manufacturing plant with profound knowledge of latest lab instruments and Quality systems such as ISO are preferred.

Competencies: Ability to effectively communicate cross-functionally, analyze data, be a team player, self-motivated, and proactive.
