Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Menu Development: Design and curate an authentic and contemporary American menu, incorporating both classic and modern culinary techniques.
  2. Kitchen Leadership: Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and high-quality food preparation. Lead, mentor, and develop kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
  3. Quality Control: Maintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and taste. Implement and uphold strict hygiene and sanitation protocols in compliance with local health regulations.
  4. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular stock checks, and liaise with suppliers to source the finest and freshest ingredients. Manage food costs and minimize waste through effective planning and forecasting.
  5. Collaboration: Work closely with the Food & Beverage Manager and other department heads to ensure seamless service delivery and enhance guest satisfaction. Participate in menu tastings, promotional events, and contribute to marketing initiatives.

Candidate Requirements

Ideally, you'll have some or all of the following competencies and experience:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a senior culinary role within an International Luxury Hotel chain, with at least 2 years as a Chef de Cuisine or similar in a high-end American cuisine restaurant. GCC exposure is preferred.
  • Education: Culinary degree or equivalent professional training from a recognized institution.
  • Skills: Exceptional culinary skills with a deep understanding of American cooking techniques and trends. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Languages: Fluent in English; Arabic fluency preferred.
  • Attributes: Creative, innovative, and passionate about culinary arts. Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment and adapt to changing guest preferences.
