We, Protouch Staffing Private Limited, India, are seeking a skilled Charge Nurse - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for our client, a government facility in Saudi Arabia. This role involves overseeing and coordinating the care of critically ill neonates while managing the NICU department. The Charge Nurse will play a key leadership role in ensuring high-quality patient care, maintaining smooth unit operations, and adhering to hospital policies and procedures. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Lead and manage the NICU team, including Registered Nurses (RNs), support staff, and residents. - Oversee daily operations of the NICU, ensuring effective patient care delivery and unit efficiency. - Supervise and evaluate the performance of nursing staff, providing mentorship, training, and support as needed. - Develop and implement individualized care plans for neonates, ensuring specialized medical and emotional care. - Monitor and assess neonates' progress, administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and responding to any complications or emergencies. - Assist with complex neonatal procedures and provide emergency interventions when required. - Ensure that all NICU equipment, instruments, and medications are available, properly maintained, and ready for use. - Maintain communication with neonatologists, pediatricians, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure collaborative and comprehensive neonatal care. - Provide emotional and psychological support to parents and families, ensuring a compassionate and supportive environment. - Lead quality improvement initiatives within the unit, ensuring compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and best practices. - Ensure that all patient documentation is completed accurately and promptly, including neonatal progress notes and treatment records.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution. - Valid Nursing License (SCFHS Preferred) or equivalent Home Country License. - Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in NICU, with at least 3 years in a charge nurse or leadership role. - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications. - In-depth knowledge of neonatal care, including ventilation management, neonatal resuscitation, and specialized NICU procedures. - Ability to lead, supervise, and provide mentorship to nursing staff. - Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills, particularly in emergency situations. - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team collaboration skills. - Compassionate and family-centered approach to neonatal care. - Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations. - Fluency in English (proficiency in Arabic is a plus).
