Overview

Woodston Personnel is seeking an experienced Charge Nurse to join our client’s hospital in KSA.

Organizational Relationships
  • Reports to: Head Nurse
  • Responsible for: All Nursing Staff of assigned area
  • Liaises with: Nursing staff and multidisciplinary team
Job Summary
  • Assesses unit needs and available resources for current and incoming shifts.
  • Facilitate patient care needs.
  • Assesses, implements and evaluates quality of care.
  • Mentors and precepts to all Nursing Staff including trainees and students.
  • Direct patient care by working as a team leader and a team member.
  • Act on behalf of or in the absence of Head Nurse.
Duties And Responsibilities
  • Uphold philosophy, mission, vision, goals and objectives of the Nursing Department and PSMMC.
  • Identify patient acuity and determine nursing care needs and availability of staff.
  • Establish partnership, facilitating team building and works collaboratively with other healthcare team member
  • Promote staff development through education and training based on identified needs.
  • Ensure that standards of care, policies and procedures are effectively and safely practices.
  • Participates in the clinical audits and quality improvement projects.
  • Support and guides pull-out staff allocated to the area.
  • Establish healthy and safe working environment.
  • Participate in direct patient-care working as a team member and promote highest standards of evidence-based practice.
  • Raise the morale of the nursing team by recognizing and valuing contributions from the individual within the ward and providing clinical support.
  • Ensure patients and staff confidentiality.
  • Facilitate in ordering, following, receiving and distribution of supplies and collaboration in inventories.
  • Coordinate patient admission, transfer and discharge arrangement.
  • Arrange for continuing outpatient services and home care referral as needed.
  • Actively participate in the orientation, promotion and retention of staff: Supervises trainees and student nurses
  • Observe and respect patients' Bill of Rights and responsibilities.
  • Support Saudization Nursing Development Program (SNDP).
  • Practices culture of safety.
  • Report wrong practice of nursing care to his/her chain of command.
  • Lead in performance improvement activities and utilizes data to develop action for improvement, evaluation and documentation of outcomes.
  • Assume responsibility within the scope of practice.
  • Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of the employee’s knowledge, skills and abilities.
Education / Licensure

Essential

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from accredited school or University.
  • Current License of practice from country of origin with current Saudi Council Registration as Specialist.

Desirable

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
  • Current License of practice from country of origin with current Saudi Council Registration as a Senior Specialist.
Professional Experience

Essential

  • For Bachelor's Degree holder: Minimum of five (5) years post registration experience, at least two (2) years must be spent in the relevant specialty.
  • For Master's Degree holder: Two (2) years' experience.
  • Successfully completes generic and unit specific competencies in the designated area of specialty.
