Amazon Saudi Arabia - Category Specialist

Amazon Saudi Arabia is looking for a smart, enthusiastic, hard-working, and creative Category Specialist to join our team based in Riyadh.

The Category Specialist will be responsible for developing and owning the strategy for some of our top vendor relationships in KSA. This role offers the opportunity to establish and maintain strong vendor partnerships, manage category profitability, and identify ways to enhance the customer experience. We seek a business leader with analytical skills, excellent judgment, vendor management and negotiation expertise, curiosity, and a passion for creating a world-class shopping experience for our customers.

You will work with vendors of all sizes and need to have leadership presence and communication skills to represent Amazon effectively at all organizational levels. Experience in business analytics, strategic thinking, negotiations, and operations is required.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Define strategies to deliver an exceptional customer experience while achieving profitable growth in the retail category.
  2. Develop knowledge of supply/demand trends and success drivers within your category.
  3. Establish relationships and negotiate agreements with leading manufacturers and brands. Drive new product launches and category expansions.
  4. Lead projects to optimize sourcing, pricing, and promotional activities.
  5. Collaborate with vendors and merchandising teams on promotions and marketing initiatives, coordinating with the Merchandising team for execution.
  6. Work with operational teams to maintain healthy inventory levels and manage stock-out or overstock risks.
  7. Participate in daily operational activities, including customer feedback analysis, price monitoring, and business improvement initiatives.
  8. Represent Amazon as an industry ambassador and work to enhance our market position.
Minimum Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of account management, project, program management, or buying experience.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other business analytics tools.
  • Experience with software and editing tools such as HTML, Excel, and SQL.
  • Experience in online retail.
  • Familiarity with analytical tools like Google Analytics, SQL, or HTML.
