Job description

Job Purpose

Lead, develop, and implement strategic initiatives and comprehensive pricing strategies, manage commercial opportunities and partnerships, and ensure compliance with regulations, thereby driving revenue growth, operational efficiency, and alignment with the airport's long-term objectives.

Position Accountability Description

Strategic Leadership:

1. Develop and lead the implementation of comprehensive strategies for Cargo & Logistics that align with the airport’s vision, mission, and strategic goals, ensuring effective management and growth in this sector.

2. Integrate Cargo & Logistics Development Plans seamlessly into the overall commercial strategy, ensuring they support long-term growth objectives and operational excellence.

3. Manage the development of short-term and long-term plans, including pricing strategies and revenue targets, ensuring alignment with the airport’s strategic objectives and market competitiveness.

4. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of Cargo & Logistics initiatives, driving continuous improvement and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Operational Excellence:

5. Oversee daily operations by managing team activities, resolving issues, and ensuring policy adherence to maintain smooth departmental functioning.

6. Lead process improvements by analyzing current practices, identifying inefficiencies, and applying best practices to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

7. Facilitate discussions and validate proposed new commercial opportunities with relevant departments, ensuring compliance with operational, legal, and safety requirements.

8. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented strategies, making adjustments to ensure ongoing compliance and market competitiveness.

9. Guide the development and execution of commercial specifications for tender processes, ensuring thorough preparation and alignment with business objectives.

10. Ensure financial aspects of Cargo & Logistics strategies are accurately reflected in development plans and business proposals.

11. Approve detailed price comparison findings to inform the Cargo & Logistics business plan, optimizing revenue opportunities and supporting strategic decision-making.

Stakeholder Management:

12. Build and maintain strategic relationships with targeted business partners, fostering collaboration and mutual growth.

13. Identify and establish strategic relationships with targeted business partners, developing tailored offerings that align with the airport's commercial objectives and drive mutual growth and success.

14. Lead stakeholder review meetings to assess the performance of Cargo & Logistics operations and partnerships, providing actionable recommendations for improvement.

15. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of Cargo & Logistics strategies with broader airport operations.

16. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to validate and refine commercial opportunities, ensuring alignment with operational and regulatory requirements.

Team Leadership and Development:

17. Set clear performance goals for team members, conducting regular reviews, and providing constructive feedback to drive high performance and continuous improvement.

18. Develop and implement training programs to enhance team members' skills in strategic initiatives within Cargo & Logistics, fostering a highly skilled workforce.

19. Promote a high-performance culture by encouraging accountability, excellence, and continuous learning among team members.

Financial Management:

20. Monitor unit budgets closely, analyzing expenditures, identifying opportunities for cost savings, and making necessary adjustments to uphold financial accountability and optimize resource allocation.

21. Prepare detailed budget reports for senior management, providing insights and recommendations to inform financial planning for compensation and benefits programs.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

22. Drive continuous improvement by staying updated with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices, integrating insights into departmental strategies.

23. Implement advanced technology solutions to enhance cargo tracking, real estate management, and overall non-passenger operations.

24. Encourage a culture of innovation by exploring new revenue streams and opportunities for business growth.

Education

Bachelor’s degree: In Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.

Experience

Minimum 8 years of total experience in occupational safety, risk management, or a related field, with a significant portion in a management or leadership role.
