Job Description Summary

The Care Assistant 1 works within the Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare Nursing department in Dhahran, Al Hasa, Ras Tanura, Udhailiyah, and Abqaiq, providing assistance to Nursing Service personnel across various shifts and units. Responsibilities include supporting non-clinical routine duties, escorting patients for transport within hospital/district areas, and maintaining a clean, safe environment to ensure quality care support.

Under direct supervision of nursing staff, the Care Assistant 1 performs activities aligned with the organization’s philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures, including:

  1. Distributing and collecting patient food trays.
  2. Making beds and handling soiled linen.
  3. Tracking and recording unit material and equipment movements.
  4. Managing stock inventory as directed by the charge nurse.
  5. Supporting retrieval and inventory of unit materials and supplies.
  6. Providing comfort measures during procedures and cleaning the area afterward.
  7. Maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment, disposing of contaminated items appropriately.
  8. Adhering to infection control and safety standards.
  9. Ensuring equipment cleanliness, functionality, and inventory, reporting broken equipment for repair.
  10. Following established standards, policies, and procedures.
  11. Participating in mandatory staff training, including fire and disaster drills, to promote personal growth.
  12. Assisting with patient transport within the unit and hospital as a non-clinical porter.

Minimum Education Required: 12 years of schooling including high school; diploma or higher in a healthcare field preferred.

Professional Certifications Required: Valid Basic Life Support/Heart Saver certification.
