Job Description Summary

The Care Assistant 1 works within Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare Nursing department in Dhahran, Al Hasa, Ras Tanura, Udhailiyah, and Abqaiq at various hours during the assigned shift(s) as required in the designated Unit/Clinics of the JHAH Organizations and provides assistance to Nursing Service personnel. This includes assisting with a variety of non-clinical routine duties, acting as an escort for patient transport within hospital/district areas, and assisting in maintaining a clean, safe environment to support competent and reliable Care Assistance for the JHAH Nursing Organization.

  • Perform activities under the supervision of nursing staff aligned with the organization’s philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures. These include distributing and collecting patient food trays, making beds, and handling soiled linen.
  • Trace and record all unit material and equipment movements as directed.
  • Manage stock inventory as directed by the charge nurse and support unit material and supplies retrieval and inventory.
  • Provide comfort measures during procedures, support infection control and safety awareness, and maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Ensure equipment cleanliness, functionality, and inventory management, including reporting broken equipment for repair.
  • Participate in mandatory staff training, including fire, disaster drills, and mock codes.
  • Assist with patient transport and movement within the unit and across the facility as a non-clinical porter.
Minimum Education Required

12 years including high school; a diploma or higher education in any healthcare field is preferred.

Professional Certifications Required

Valid Basic Life Support/Heart Saver certification.

Years of Experience

Hospital experience in any field is preferred but not necessary. On-the-job training will be provided.

Languages

English: Fully Proficient; Arabic: Preferred.
